Add a Smart App Banner to your website
Enter your App Store ID and, if you like, the screen the banner should open. You get the tag for your page's head and a picture of what Safari will show.

The number after “id” in your app's App Store address.
A URL handed to your app when the banner is tapped. Usually the address of the page the banner is on.
Safari takes the real name and icon from the App Store.
Adds the web manifest keys Chrome reads on Android.
<meta name="apple-itunes-app" content="app-id=123456789">What the banner does
- In Safari on an iPhone or iPad, a strip appears at the top of the page. If the app is installed it says Open; if not, it says View and goes to the App Store.
- The name and icon come from the App Store. You cannot restyle the banner or change its words.
- Once someone closes it, Safari stops showing it to them on that site.
Where it does not appear
- Chrome, Firefox and every other browser on iPhone.
- In-app browsers: links opened inside Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and the like.
- Android, in any browser. The optional manifest keys above ask Chrome on Android to offer your Play Store app instead of installing the website, which is the nearest equivalent and appears far less reliably.
- Computers, and private browsing windows.
Receiving the app argument
When the banner is tapped with the app installed, iOS opens the app and hands it the app-argument URL, the same way a custom scheme link arrives:
ContentView()
.onOpenURL { url in
Router.shared.open(url) // the app-argument from the banner
}Do not know your App Store ID? The app ID lookup finds it from the app's name.
Safari's banner only appears in Safari. The DL2App banner is one script tag that shows in mobile browsers on both iPhone and Android, not only Safari, opens the app at the right screen, and counts views and taps.
